Hot Wheels Lead Designer Steve Vandervate Inducted Into the Diecast Hall of Fame

Today Hot Wheels® announced the induction of lead designer, Steve Vandervate into the Diecast Hall of Fame at the ninth annual Diecast Hall of Fame ceremony in Las Vegas, NV.  Vandervate is recognized as one of the “Diecast Designers” for his work in graphic design on Hot Wheels premium and Red Line Club® segments.

Vandervate joined the Hot Wheels design team 2003 where he worked as a graphic project designer.  In his tenure on the Hot Wheels team Vandevate has worked across the entire portfolio of diecast from Red Line Club to basic cars.  He is now the lead graphic designer for the premium and collector segments, while still contributing many designs for cars in the basic and themed assortments.

“It is truly an honor to be inducted into the Diecast Hall of Fame on behalf of a brand I value and believe in,” said Steve Vandervate, Lead Designer, Hot Wheels Design. “From basics to collector graphics, the best part of designing for Hot Wheels is ultimately knowing my cars bring joy to fans of any age.”

Vandervate joins a number of Hot Wheels designers that have been honored by the Diecast Hall of Fame, including: Elliot Handler, Larry Wood, Phil Riehlman, Ira Gilford,  Bob Rosas, Mark Jones, Otto Kuhni and Howard Rees, to name a few.

The induction ceremony will take place at 6:30pm, Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 2016 Super Toy Con, in Las Vegas, NV.
