Life-size cars
Hot Wheels® is best known for its basic 1:64-scale vehicles and track sets that have spurred exhilaration and captured imaginations throughout generations. Taking this to the next level, full-size Hot Wheels® vehicles have been developed to commemorate anniversaries and for display at trade shows and conferences. The famous die-cast vehicles come to life in full-sized cars and embody the speed, power and performance that are the essence of the Hot Wheels® brand.
Twin Mill®
The Twin Mill® was the first life-size car created based on a Hot Wheels® design. Conceived in 1968 by Ira Gilford, the twin big-block engines became the vehicle’s most recognizable feature and contribute to its high-performance appearance. A full-sized Twin Mill® was commissioned for the 30th anniversary of Hot Wheels® cars in 1998, and unveiled in 2001 at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) trade show. The twin Chevrolet® motors, supplied by GM Performance Products, are not just for show – this fully operational racer produces upwards of 1400 horsepower. The Twin Mill® recently changed colors from Spectraflame® Red to Spectraflame® Green.
Deora®
In 1964, Chrysler commissioned Mike and Larry Alexander to customize their new economy pickup, the Dodge A-100. Based on automotive designer Harry Bentley Bradley’s illustration, the Alexander brothers created a low, cab-forward design with a front-opening cab; giving it a very sleek, futuristic appearance. The winning entry in a naming contest – “Deora” – was from a 13-year-old boy, and is a technically incorrect version of the Spanish word for “golden.” The 1968 Hot Wheels® Deora® became a huge hit and an automotive legend.
Deora® ll
In 2000, Hot Wheels® designer Nathan Proch created the Deora® II as homage to the groundbreaking and original spirit of Hot Wheels® cars. In 2003, in preparation for the 35th anniversary of the Hot Wheels® brand, the Deora® II was built and the 1:64-scale, die-cast Deora® II has been a staple in the Hot Wheels® lineup ever since.
1966 Pontiac GTO
This exclusive life-size car, affectionately referred to as the “Goat,” is a 1966 Pontiac GTO that features Hot Wheels® KMC Wheels and specialty Hot Wheels® PPG paint. This car was unveiled for the first time in the Hot Wheels® booth at the 2006 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas.
2006 Ford Mustang GT
Created for Hot Wheels®, this unique Mustang features a Hot Wheels®/Carbon Creations carbon fiber wide body kit, custom Hot Wheels® PPG candy blue paint, Carbon Fiber Status bucket racing seats, Hot Wheels® suede door inserts and a Vortech Supercharger.
